Looking for a good spelling display? How about this spelling garden?!
The spelling garden features the vowel sounds in the center of the flower. The stems and leaves include examples that go with the sounds.
For example, students may be learning about the long /oo/ sound. Letter combinations that make the /oo/ sound may include "oo" as in "groove" or "ew" as in "stew."
I put the display on the bottom of the cabinets in the back of the classroom. I used cutouts and construction paper to make the flowers, stems, and grass.
